   Bernard J. McGinn was appointed to the Commission of Industrial Relations by Governor Dave Heineman in March, 2008 for a six-year term.

    Judge McGinn graduated from the University of Nebraska with a BA degree in 1965, and from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1969.  He served as a Deputy County Attorney for Lancaster County from 1969 to 1981, as Chief Deputy from 1976 to 1981.  In 1981, he was appointed as District Judge for Lancaster County, Nebraska, where he served in that capacity until retirement in October, 2005.

    He has been a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association since 1969, and was the recipient of the Nebraska Supreme Court Distinguished Judge-Improvement of the Judiciary Award in 2005.
