Jeffrey L. Orr was appointed to the Commission of Industrial Relations by Governor Charles Thone, in January, 1979. He served two additional six-year terms at that time, being re-appointed by Governor Thone and then by Governor Kay Orr. After a brief lapse of service, Commissioner Orr was appointed by Governor Ben Nelson in February, 1998, re-appointed to by Governor Mike Johanns in June, 1999, and then re-appointed to his current term by Governor Dave Heineman in June, 2005. Commissioner Orr is a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Business, and an honors graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law. He is currently a founding shareholder and partner in the law firm of Jacobsen, Orr, Nelson, Wright & Lindstrom in Kearney, Nebraska. He practices primarily in the areas of business/corporate, real estate and estate planning/probate. Current memberships include University of Nebraska Foundation Board (Executive Committee), University of Nebraska Chancellor's Advisory Committee, and the Kearney Country Club Board. |
