G. Peter Burger was appointed to a six-year term on the Commission of Industrial Relations in January, 2000 by Governor Mike Johanns, and then re-appointed in January, 2006 to a second six-year term by Governor Dave Heineman. He is a native of Fairbury, Nebraska and received his B.A. degree in 1972 from Doane College in Crete, Nebraska and his J.D. degree in 1975 from Creighton University. He formerly served as a member of the Public Radio Nebraska Foundation Board. Commissioner Burger is in private practice with the law firm of Burger & Bennet, P.C. in McCook, Nebraska with emphasis on litigation, municipal, and public utility law. He formerly served on the Nebraska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, 1983-87. He is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He is admitted to practice in Nebraska, the United States District Court for Nebraska, and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. |
